Material of stainless steel forging parts
The main materials of stainless steel forging parts are 304/316, 410/420, etc.
The main chemical components of 304 stainless steel include carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), sulfur (S), phosphorus (P), chromium (Cr) and nickel (Ni).
316 stainless steel’s main chemical components (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), sulfur (S), phosphorus (P), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni) and molybdenum (Mo).
316 stainless steel has significantly improved its corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance, and can be used under harsh conditions. Its high temperature resistance can reach 1200-1300℃, and it performs excellently in acidic or high-salt environments. In addition, 316 stainless steel also has good work hardening and non-magnetic properties.

Forging process of stainless steel forging parts
1. Select the material, select bar material that meets ASTM/GB standards, and then use a discharger to cut the material and cut it into a size that meets the forging requirements.
2. Heat the material, preheat the stainless steel material, and the preheating temperature is around 1200 degrees. The purpose of preheating is to make the material soft and facilitate forging.
3. Forging type: Directly use a large press forging (the press is generally more than 1,000 tons). The stainless steel is relatively soft and requires a large forging machine to forge. When forging, you can choose closed forging or open forging according to customer usage requirements.
4. Machining and testing
The forged blanks must be machined and then tested, such as flaw detection, hardness detection, and mechanical performance detection. Through inspection, problems can be found and whether they meet customer requirements.

1 Precision dimensional control. The stainless steel forging parts are die-forged, and the tolerance can be controlled at ±0.1mm, which can reduce the subsequent processing steps and save costs for customers.
2 Increase the hardness of forging parts. Stainless steel die forging parts are forged by large presses, especially in closed die forging, making the metal material closer. The forged stainless steel blanks have a very high hardness, increasing their service life.
3 Material saving, the material utilization rate of die forgings is very high, and the general material utilization rate is above 85%. Traditionally, cutting and processing methods are used, and material waste is very serious. At the same time, mass production can be achieved through die forging, which not only reduces costs for customers, but also improves efficiency.
